Mushrooming

The month of May is the season for gathering wild morel mushrooms, cherished by gourmet chefs world wide as one of the finest delicacies.  In Europe family mushroom hunting has been going on for generations.  Enjoy a one day class in a beautiful forest setting. You will learn how to safety identify true morel mushrooms and locate their habitats.  Experience nature in a new way and start your own family tradition.

  • Location varies from Clare to Cadillac area.
  • Classes start at 10 am till approx. 6 pm
  • Cost is 95.00 per Adult

 

What to Bring

  • Sack lunch
  • Bottled water
  • Hat and sunglasses
  • Sun block, bug spray
  • Good hiking boots
  • Warm jacket and Rain coat
  • Small pocket knife
  • Cooler filled with ice
  • Wear long pants and long sleeve shirt
  • Cell phone or camera
  • Any medication you need

We will be doing a lot of walking!  When it comes to finding morel mushrooms knowledge is a better tool than luck!  Mushroom hunting is a hobby that you can share with the whole family.  It's a fun way to hunt for natures treasures, get fresh air and explore the forest.
